Shine Free Meditation Day
Are you tired? Maybe just little bit, or maybe plain exhausted.
We know this, because we get tired too, in every sense of the word. But there you are - Getting out bed every morning to make your life work. Adulting is not easy: kids, work, school, pets, family, politics, deadlines, illnesses, social media, and don't get me started on not winning the lottery, yet again.
We all need a break once in a while, but not just an exit and re-entry. You can fly to the beach to get away, or enjoy some wine and a book, (or bourbon and loud music). These are fun and relaxing distractions, but what if you could try something more sustainable for your well-being and mental health? How about you take a different kind of break WITHOUT using your vacation/PTO, without a big payment, without a big commitment, or full day away from life? Well, not necessarily from your life, because your life is beautiful and very much valued... but a break from the negativity and anxiety that could be weighing you down, and deterring thoughtful decisions and balance. A break that allows you to return feeling rejuvenated and light... working, thinking, and approaching decisions from a clean, positive space and perspective. Yes, we at TIO really love to take it outside and get sweaty, and burn calories, and take advantage of our Midwestern trails and waterways... But the truth is, these places are just as beautiful when you slow it down once in a while. Come with us this time too.
Join our very talented and attuned Meditative Instructor and trip leader, Moira Reed at Withrow Nature Preserve one of our designated Sunday mornings. We will kick off the morning with a Shinrin-Yoku walk through the woods. This is not a fast-paced hike - this is your time to actually take a minute and look around you. Is it March or September? Can you spot the Toothwort, Trillium, and Marsh Marigolds? Or how about the changing leaves? Any Sugar Maple pods on the ground? Those leaves are some of the most colorful. What kind of birds do you hear? Redtail hawks, tufted titmouse, red-bellied woodpeckers - all regulars on these trails. You'll hear them and spot them, and we can help point all of these out to you. We'll walk about 1.5-2 miles before we reach our next station for yoga and meditation.
After our walk, we'll move over to the patio for a 30-minute yoga session,
lead by one of our certified TIO yoga instructors. After yoga, we'll stay on our mats for a Shine Free© group meditation, lead by our trip leader Moira. Once we've allowed ourselves some time to reflect in meditation, we'll break for lunch. We will provide you with a delicious and healthy meal to enjoy under the trees with your TIO group.
During lunch, Moira will invite each individual guest to the gazebo for their private, personal energy reading/healing. If you would like more time with her, she would be happy to meet with you after our TIO excursion that day to schedule more time! She is also a certified Reiki Master Practitioner, which we will include in additional excursions at a later date.
