Help us welcome the newest team member, Steve Blue, to the TIO Cincinnati team! Steve (aka "Blue") was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and moved to Cincinnati in 2011. After some time as a collegiate athlete for football at Augustana College, Blue shifted his focus toward the US Navy for the next 4 years, where he was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. While in the Navy, he specialized in aviation ordnance. After his Navy EAOS, he finished school at South Dakota State University, majoring in Aviation Education, and graduating as a certified commercial twin-engine pilot.
Being new to Cincinnati without an established circle, Blue found solace in being part of a team again
at Bishops Bicycles in Milford. Bishops became his home away from home - a place for him to delve into a new passion in cycling, and learn the ins and outs of the sport. Blue established relationships and valued friendships with the experts that he holds to this day. He was an active member of the Bishops cycling team for 6 years, prior to the ownership change in 2017. He has competed in 7 cycling competitions, including Road Racing and Cyclocross as stated above.
Steve is currently training for another century ride to happen in Traverse City this summer prior to the TIO summer trip that he is co-leading with TIO founder, Amy Devine. Said excursion is the Bikes and Brews weekend in Northern Michigan!! Check it out now, because we expect that trip to fill up quickly. Bikes and brews (and Blue!) - should make for a rad weekend!
